The Best Place To Be In The Magic Kingdom When It Rains

Anyone who has visited Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida knows that rain can part of the experience. While planning to have rain friendly gear with you is important (ponchos, umbrellas, change of socks, etc.), knowing some of the best places to be in he Magic Kingdom during a rain storm can be equally important. So, if you are caught in the rain while visiting the Magic Kingdom, where are the best places to be? Here are our suggestions.

Main Street USA

Main Street USA is lined with shops. Therefore, it is among the best places to get caught when it rains. For those who usually do not take the time to explore the various Main Street places, this is a good time to check things out. Who knows, maybe this is the perfect time to do your souvenir shopping at the Emporium or get that special treat at the bakery or ice cream parlor.

Adventureland

Adventureland offers a couple of places to be in during the rain. Both are indoor attractions that still run in the rain and will keep you out of the elements.

First is Pirates of the Caribbean. Both the queue and attraction are indoors. When it rains, this is often the go to attraction for guests in Adventureland. So, be prepared for a longer than usual wait.

The other place we suggest is The Enchanted Tiki Room. This classic show has a covered queue and an indoor show. If you are one that skips this attraction, consider checking it out next time you are in Adventureland when it rains.

Frontierland

Most of Frontierland is outdoors. However, if you need to find a covered place to spend some time, you can head to The Country Bear Musical Jamboree and catch a show.

Liberty Square

In Liberty Square, you can see a showing of The Hall of Presidents, check out the Christmas Shoppe, or venture into The Haunted Mansion. The Haunted Mansion, however, has a good deal of the queue exposed to the elements, so it may not keep you the most dry in the rain. Perhaps, this is the opportunity to get that Christmas Tree ornament you wanted or make your way to The Hall of Presidents.

Fantasyland

While the Fantasyland dark rides are all indoors and many of the attractions have some indoor or covered elements, most are wither over very quickly or mostly exposed to the elements. The best exceptions to this are It's a Small World and Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid. Both of these are mostly indoor or covered queues and an entire indoor attraction experience. You can also catch a viewing of Mickey's PhilharMagic.

Tomorrowland: Our pick for the best land to be in during the rain

Tomorrowland is our pick for the best land to be in during the rain at the Magic Kingdom. This is due to the numerous indoor or covered attractions available. These include Space Mountain, Tron Lightcycle Run, The Carousel of Progress, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, and the People Mover.
